On Saturday 4th December, George’s Trust held its yearly Christmas Concert in Romsey Abbey again. After a 2 year gap, it was fantastic to have this event back in our calendars again!
As always, it was excellent to have local youth bands and choirs supporting the event, this year we heard some fantastic music from: Hampshire Music Service, Romsey Area Jazz Band, Romsey Area Youth Wind Band, Romsey Area Youth Concert Band, Romsey Youth Choirs and Romsey Abbey Choir.
As well as the excellent music, George’s Trust were pleased to present a cheque for £15000 to the Academic Unit of Cancer Sciences, University of Southampton. The donation completes George’s Trusts £50000 pledge to immunotherapy cancer research, a fantastic research project. The cheque was accepted by Dr Chris Hanley , Senior Post Doctorate Research Fellow, who spoke to the attendees about the importance of the money that George’s Trust has raised & the impact of his work on cancer research.
The evening was enjoyed by all and wouldn’t have been possible without all those who performed and supported the event – Thank you!
